Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift is a pop/country songwriter and singer for more than 20 years. Swift's stories of romantic love in the midst of heartbreak and young love have gained her widespread popularity during the 21st Century. Swift's passion for music was evident at an early stage. From musicals for kids to appearing in front of crowds, Swift made rapid progress. In 2011, Swift, at the age of 11, performed The Star-Spangled Banner during a Philadelphia 76ers' basketball match. In the year following, she began to write her own songs. Taking her inspiration from country music artists such as Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks (now the Chicks) Swift crafted original material that reflected her experiences of growing up in a world that was dominated by tweens. Swift left Pennsylvania with her parents in Tennessee to Hendersonville when she turned 13 to devote more time to reaching out to the country music labels.
